9 Need-to-Know Fashion Designers in Croatia

Published on 03/08/2016 by ClickToCroatia Team

With globally present brands such as H&M, C&A, Forever 21 etc., everyone seems to be dressed the same, and many people are not happy with being uniformed. They want to be individuals, not a part of the crowd. To accentuate their individuality, some of them have chosen second-hand clothes, some have chosen high fashion, and the others have decided to research less known fashion designers who are making unique clothes and are affordable compared to the a-list fashion designers.

For tourists who are coming to Croatia, we have a special treat. Croatia has had its place on the fashion map of Europe for quite some time, and since you’re already on holiday, why not bring something other than fridge magnets back with you.

There are many Croatian fashion designers, and we’ve selected 9 of them to present to you, in no particular order.

Larie by Marina Lackovic

After finishing schooling at the Faculty of Textile Technology in Zagreb, Marina continued her quest for knowledge in Italy, at Instituti Callegari. After her debut at Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb, she became a well-known name in the Croatian fashion industry. By looking at her models, we can see why Marina is a firm believer in Boho style and lace in the summer and sexy leather in the winter. You can check out her models at her Facebook and her Instagram page.

Lokomotiva World

Two names stand proudly behind Lokomotiva World brand: Luka Grubišić and Lana Puljić. A fashion designer and an architect, who have created the prêt-a-porter fashion brand Lokomotiva and launched it together in 2012. Their seasonal collections are presented to the domestic fashion public as part of Cro A Porter, where, with each new appearance, they uncompromisingly enter the hearts of fashion lovers who value recognisable charm, quality, meticulousness and, of course, authenticity. Their collections are really breathtaking and every collection is unique in style, but one thing is sure: they bring out the best in a woman’s figure. You can view them here

Boris Banovic

Boris’s voyage from a design student, fashion buyer, tv person and columnist, to a fashion designer was an interesting one. He often says that there are two Borises.
