National Park Plitvička jezera (Plitvice Lakes)
Plitvice Lakes are Croatia’s most famous NP, which was among the first admitted to the UNESCO world heritage list. Magnificent forest landscapes between the mountains Mala Kapela and Plješevica are a system of 16 lakes connected through numerous cascades.
The rainforest of beech and fir tree Čorkova uvala/valley and various different bird species and caves fulfill the magnificent landscape. During the winter season snow and ice cover the mountains, forests, lakes and cascades. There you can find the most attractive biking and hiking tracks in Europe. You can also get a special canoe-ride license.
