Region: Dalmatia – Šibenik
Except Šibenik, a well-known city in this region, there are also other cities: Vodice (a famous touristic center), Skradin, Knin and Drniš. Šibenik is a memorial of Gothic, Renaissance and the Baroque constructions. St. Jacob’s Cathedral and the old city core are enlisted in the UNESCO world heritage list. The spirit of Šibenik is not always materialized; it can also be heard and sensed through the traditional Klapa music.
River Krka and its surrounding landscape give the Šibenik region an extraordinary touristic attraction. Two national parks nearby Šibenik, “Krka” and “Kornati”, furnish the touristic offer with additional attractive value. Zlarin is an island of corals where the craft of handmade coral jewelry is kept alive even today. The island Krapanj can give you an experience of hunting and processing of sponges.
In the southern part of the region there are many gravel bays, fisher villages built of stone, surrounded by olive groves, pine trees and vineyards. The hinterland of Primošten gives you a chance to meet the tradition and genuine lifestyle in numerous village households.
